A fault code is a starting point
A fault code identifies an affected system or circuit. It does not automatically prove which component must be replaced.

When further diagnosis is needed
Some faults require mechanical checks, electrical testing, road testing, specialist equipment or garage facilities before a repair decision is reliable.
